I Have a Chimney Issue, Can I Call Northeastern Masonry & Chimney?

Since 1993, Northeastern Masonry & Chimney has been working with homeowners in Latham and throughout the Capital District. A yearly chimney and fireplace inspection and cleaning can prevent potential fires and toxic gas poisoning. Today, homes are built and renovated to be as airtight and energy-efficient as possible, which is great for reducing utility costs and consumption. However, if there are problems with venting, then the gases that are supposed to be channeled outside your home are trapped inside, and that is what causes health issues and combustion.

When you call Northeastern Masonry & Chimney, you will be assured that our technicians are certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America and receive ongoing training to properly care for your wood- and fuel-burning appliances and venting. We are proud of our excellent customer reviews and ratings on Google and Angie’s List

We had our pellet stove installed about a week ago. The experience was great. We dealt with Joe, the owner, on the purchase of the stove and he was knowledgeable and upfront with all information. The employees that came to install the stove were prompt and on time as scheduled. It was a seamless installation process and we are very pleased with the work done. When they left the job you could not even tell they were here, everything was clean and neat.

The Latham Area – An Outdoor-Lover’s Paradise

The hamlet of Latham has gone through many name changes over the years. The hamlet’s names have been linked to its historic hotel that served travelers passing through the area. In the early 1800s, the area was called Yearsley after Jonas Yearsley, the first resident and owner of the first hotel in the area. During the mid-1800s, the name of the hamlet changed again; it was changed to Van Vranken’s, the name of the innkeeper who was now in charge of the former Yearsley hotel. Latham was the final name of the town, in remembrance of William G. Latham, who was also a proprietor of the hotel. Latham’s son ran the hotel until the 1930s.
