~ Mrs S., Niskayuna

Northeastern Masonry & Chimney has been in the business of protecting families from chimney hazards since 1993. We are proud to be the chimney company of choice in Niskayuna by offering these seven chimney and related services:

Why It’s Important To Call Northeastern

Ever think “it can’t happen to me!” when you hear about a household fire or someone having medical issues related to carbon monoxide? When you follow the recommendations from the Chimney Safety Institute of America and have professional chimney sweeping and maintenance performed every year, you will be able to say “it can’t happen to me!” with confidence.

Built-up soot and creosote can cause dangerous fires. If you have cracks in your masonry, rather than being forced outside, the toxic gas produced by your wood- and fuel-burning appliances will seep into your house and cause serious health issues and even possible explosions. But, when you call Northeastern, we are trained to remove these buildups and to make sure your flue is venting properly! Of course, if there is a problem we will see it and fix it for you.

When you call Northeastern you will realize it’s the combination of our expertise and excellent customer service that give us the competitive edge in our marketplace. From the moment you call us and all the way through your service call, you will see how committed we are to our customers. Our rating with the BBB and Angie’s List reflect the positive customer feedback we work hard to earn. Our technicians are certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America and the National Fireplace Institute. We provide the same experienced service whether your home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places or is newer construction, or somewhere in between.

What Makes Niskayuna So Special

Niskayuna was formed in 1809 and had a population of 861. Even as the city and surrounding area has continued to expand, there are several reminders of the past. The George Westinghouse Jones House, the Niskayuna Railroad Station and several other properties are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Today, Niskayuna is comprised of over 15 communities each with their own personality, yet nonetheless committed to maintaining a quality of life that’s only found in Upstate New York. The 2010 census had the population at almost 22,000…a significant increase from 861!

There is so many things to do for residents and visitors of Niskayuna…hiking trails galore, apple and pumpkin festivals, live entertainment, parks, golf, ice skating, snow skiing and exploring the Mohawk River by land and water are just a few of our favorites.

The town of Niskayuna is where Lock 7 of the Erie Canal (now named the New York State Canal System) is located. The Erie Canal runs from Lake Erie to Albany, New York and has 34 locks along the way which equalize the water levels so boats and ships can navigate and transport cargo from the Midwest to the East. Lock 7 provides a 27-ft. lift. May through November, visitors to the Lock 7 Park can watch boats passing through the locks. Even if you go to the park at other times of the year, you will learn about how the locks work and their importance. The attractions of the Park also include watching the water rush over the dam and fishing. There is a boat launch, along with some picnic areas, bird watching spots, and walking and biking trails.

Whether you live in Windsor Estates, Forest Oaks, Grand Blvd Estates, Hawthorn Hill, Stanford Heights, Woodcrest or Orchard Park or another neighborhood, we are here to be your chimney professional. Call us today for an appointment or click here to schedule online.

There’s a surprising number of things to see and do in the friendly community of Pittsfield and we’re glad it’s one of the locations we serve.
