Summary
We are seeking a Laborer to join our team at Northeastern Masonry & Fireplace Inc. This role is essential in supporting our skilled technicians in various tasks related to fireplace installation and chimney repair. The Laborer will help ensure that our projects run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Chimney Tech or Lead Mason with his day-to-day job preparation, including stocking the van with supplies and equipment.
- Set-up and break down the staging
- Heavy lifting
- Mix mortar
- Stand and walk on roof, scaffolding, and ladders.
- Clean out trucks, keep tools in order, and clean up tools.
- Sweep chimneys
- Demolition work on chimneys and fireplaces, clean up of debris.
- Visit the dump site periodically to unload debris.
- Keep truck clean and organized
- Work with brick, block, stone, mortar, cement, and other products
Requirements
- Construction work experience preferred.
- Must be able to climb ladders with no fear of height.
- Must be comfortable working on roof and scaffolding.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must provide his/her own transportation to/from work
- Able to work long hours and in all weather temperatures (Ex: Heat, cold, rain, etc)
- Able to work under pressure and work well in a team environment.
- Desire to learn and grow.
- Safety and employee meeting attendance is required.
- Attendance at chimney sweep training school and certification testing will be required after the apprenticeship period. CCP certification testing will be required before obtaining CSIA certification.
- Other training and certifications may be required in the future, based on additional job duties.
- Traveling may be required for training/seminars, certifications, or conventions.
