About Northeastern Masonry & Chimney
Northeastern Masonry & Chimney was founded in 1993 by Joseph Shear.
In 1999, Shear and his team became certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA), which sets the National standard for the chimney sweep industry. In addition to their extensive education and training, the team set themselves apart by being one of the first sweeps to provide closed-circuit video inspections of chimney interiors at no additional fee.
Soon, Northeastern Masonry & Chimney also gained a reputation for being chimney and fireplace restoration experts, specializing in historical restorations. The team has since worked on a variety of historical projects, including the Governors’ Mansion in Boston, Massachusetts and the Franklin D. Roosevelt home in Hyde Park. They’ve also worked closely with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation. When it comes to preserving and restoring historical fireplaces and chimneys, the team at Northeastern Masonry & Chimney has proven that they know their stuff.
In 2007, Shear moved his team to a larger facility where he could offer his customers a full heating appliance showroom. Now, Northeastern Masonry & Chimney is truly a one-stop shop, offering comprehensive chimney and appliance care — Just ask one of their 17,000+ satisfied customers!
