Good job!

~ Mr. T., Latham, Albany Co.

Northeastern Masonry and Chimney provides the excellent customer service and the expertise in chimney care that homeowners in Latham want. We know how important it is to have your chimney and fireplace clean and clear of debris. If there are problems, catching and fixing them early is equally important to prevent any structural damage to your home. Here’s an overview of the services we provide:

Since 1993 Northeastern Masonry and Chimney has been working with homeowners in Latham and throughout the Capital District. A yearly chimney and fireplace inspection and cleaning can prevent potential fires and toxic gas poisoning. Today, homes are built and renovated to be as airtight and energy efficient as possible, which is great for reducing utility costs and consumption. However, if there are problems with venting, then the gases that are supposed to be channeled outside your home are trapped inside and that’s what causes health issues and combustion.

When you call Northeastern Masonry you will be assured that our technicians are certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America and receive ongoing training to properly care for your wood- and fuel-burning appliances and venting. We are proud of our excellent customer reviews and ratings on Google and Angie’s List. We strive to provide you with the best experience in the industry. We do business with expertise, integrity, and excellent customer service.

Room Service, Please!

The hamlet of Latham has gone through many name changes over the years. The hamlet’s names have been linked to its historic hotel that served travelers passing through the area. In the early 1800s the area was called Yearsley after Jonas Yearsley, the first resident and owner of the first hotel in the area. During the mid 1800s the name of the hamlet changed again; it was changed to Van Vranken’s, the name of the innkeeper who was now in charge of the former Yearsley hotel. Latham was the final name of the town, in remembrance of William G. Latham who was also a proprietor of the hotel. Latham’s son ran the hotel until the 1930s.
